We have a very exciting Facultative Reinsurance Broker role based in Dubai at SHIELDS Reinsurance Brokers Ltd, regulated by the DFSA and admitted at Lloyd's of London.

You will undertake advisory work and play an active role in broking contracts. You will be involved in both the assessment of our clients’ risk and the financial implications of the solutions we propose.

Job Description Facultative Reinsurance Broker:

· Produce new business and work alongside senior team members on the successful placement of new and renewal business.

· Facilitate the compilation of submission information in conjunction with senior management.

· Prepare broking slip, review underwriting submission, obtain quotations, negotiate renewals and finalise placements with reinsurers.

· Negotiate scope of coverage, including policy extensions, limitations, exclusions, and subjectivities while achieving cost-effective coverage.

· Understand and manage clients’ needs and be able to advise clients with (re)insurance purchasing strategies.

· Analyse clients’ requirements to identify appropriate reinsurance coverage and support placement strategy.

· Negotiate with underwriters to place reinsurance structures that best suit our client’s needs.

· Maintain constant contact with clients and reinsurers.

· Work with the existing client service teams on the day-to-day handling of an account dealing with enquires and endorsements on new and existing placements.

· Prepare and maintain technical documentation and ensure risks and documentation conform to regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for producing and checking the technical documentation, Open Market, Lineslips and Binding Authorities as well as producing and review of wordings and drafting amendments.

· Establish professional working relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and relevant external contacts.

· Adhere to all best practices and highest standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour in all activities.

· Prepare client's and markets presentations in Excel, Word and PowerPoint formats.

Experience / Requirements:

· Native or Bilingual English speaker with Arabic and/or French is a requirement.

· Experience with reinsurance broking or placement is a must.

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

· Quick to learn new skills, comfortable communicating with clients and reinsurers, doing technical work, data analysis and contract work.

Qualifications:

Holding a diploma in Higher Education with minimum 5 years’ experience as a reinsurance placing broker or relevant industry experience.

Preferably with professional qualification of ACll or ENASS or working towards.

Skills:

The candidate will be expected to interact regularly with clients in order to successfully originate and complete each transaction, with an ability to operate independently and technically capable of the work required to be completed.

· Good interpersonal skills, able to build strong business relationships.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with and the ability to explain matters to non-specialists.

· Passion for the (re)insurance sector and a good understanding of our industry.

· Strong analytical and numerical skills - to quickly grasp complex issues.

· Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail.

· Good IT skills.

· Desire to take early responsibilities.

· High degree of self-discipline and commitment.
