Natural Gas Trading Analyst
We are partnered with one of, if not the largest national utility companies who is seeking a talented and analytical Natural Gas Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy markets, particularly natural gas, and possess exceptional quantitative and qualitative analysis skills. This role requires a deep understanding of fundamental drivers impacting natural gas markets, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with traders, risk managers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of natural gas markets, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors.
- Structured Transaction Development: Develop innovative structured transactions tailored to mitigate risk, enhance profitability, and capitalize on market inefficiencies.
- Modeling: Utilize advanced models and tools to assess market risk, value complex transactions, and optimize trading strategies.
- Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and scenario modeling to evaluate the profitability and risk-adjusted return of structured transactions. Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and value creation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in energy markets, with a focus on natural gas trading, structuring, or risk management.
- Strong quantitative skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and programming languages such as Python or R.
- Excellent understanding of natural gas markets, including physical and financial trading mechanisms, pricing dynamics, and risk factors.
