Role Overview: Our client, a boutique country risk advisory firm, is seeking a Client Relationship Manager to help maintain and expand relationships with existing clients. This role focuses on ensuring client satisfaction, identifying growth opportunities within current accounts, and supporting the delivery of geopolitical risk research, business intelligence, and advisory services. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in client management, preferably in consulting, research, or professional services environments, with an understanding of geopolitical risk landscapes and the needs of clients operating internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively
- Develop deep understanding of clients' businesses, challenges, and objectives to identify opportunities where the firm's services can add value
- Proactively manage client relationships through regular communication, check-ins, and relationship reviews
- Work closely with research team to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and requirements
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services within existing client accounts
- Gather and analyze client feedback to continuously improve service delivery
- Support the onboarding process for new clients to ensure a smooth transition
- Maintain accurate client records and track engagement metrics
- Collaborate with senior Business Development Directors on account strategies for key clients
Key Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in client relationship management, account management, or similar client-facing roles
- Background in consulting, research, advisory services, or professional services preferred
- Understanding of geopolitical risk, international business challenges, or security issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at various organizational levels
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how to identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Proficiency with CRM systems and data analysis tools
- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Business, Political Science, or related field
- Experience working with clients in the energy, mining, or other international sectors is a plus.
