Laurel Strategies is a global CEO advisory and strategic communications firm for the world’s most visionary executives, corporations and institutions. Additionally, we are deepening our regional work in a number of key areas, including Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Student pursuing study in either communications, journalism, or public/international affairs
- Previous office/internship experience and a high level of professionalism
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in research
- Experience using social media in a professional atmosphere a plus
- Can adapt quickly to new situations and is internally motivated
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Team orientation and enthusiasm
- High standards for quality results
- Excellent judgment and common sense
- Ability to solve problems creatively
Intern Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth research to support CEO and clients in topic areas ranging from financial services to geopolitics to healthcare.
- Collect and evaluate information available publicly via news organizations, government reports, online forums, blogs, news sites, social media, podcasts and other sources.
- Produce daily news clip reports
- Assist in creating comprehensive briefings and background memoranda for meetings and engagements.
- Identify trends in media coverage that create opportunities for Laurel Strategies’ clients to deliver thought leadership.
- Support Laurel Strategies clients by providing in-depth research on topics they care about
- Scour industry-related media reports, including social media, to support client teams.
- Summarize research and data in layman's terms in reports and presentations.
- Assess public sentiment about a subject, product, or service.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned based on interest and need.
