Director, Corporate Business Development
Our client is a leading policy-focused private sector consulting and advisory firm that specializes in highly regulated industries, headquartered in Washington, DC.
The firm is seeking a VP or Director of Corporate Business Development with a focus on the energy sector to drive and execute corporate business strategy. As a senior member of the Corporate Business Development team, you willpartner with the firm's research analysts, who act as trusted advisors helping corporations navigate the local, national and global regulatory landscape.

The Corporate Business Developmentteam works at the intersection of business development, account management, client engagement, retention and marketing within the existing and new Corporate accounts.
What are the responsibilities?
- Pipeline management: identify and cultivate new Corporate business opportunities through cold calling, delivering pitches, email campaigns, in-person meetings and referrals
- Own the Business development process; Identify and execute key BD initiatives and commercial opportunities, track and report on revenue and lead flow
- Develop and nurture positive client relationships, actively engage with clients and solicit feedback. Ensure a robust engagement strategy for key relationships are in place
- Performing a full range of activities required to support the respective Corporate accounts’ business and BD priorities
- Deliver client excellence by ensuring effective collaboration across the Company’s research analyst team, business development team and any supporting functions
- Articulate the firm's investment ideas and drive brand awareness
- Professionally represent the firm to build relationships with new and existing client base
What does it take to be successful?
- Proven track record of new business development working with both new and existing customers delivering demonstrable growth in a business development environment.
- Strong preference for experience in the energy sector
- Organized, persistent and persuasive, the ability to generate your own leads
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- At least five years of previous experience working within a similar field with an understanding of the energy policy world would be useful, but not essential
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic BD environment
- Career Minded professionalism, displays strong character and shows commitment to the company by working together and adding value to achieve success
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area.
