Our client is a prominent non-partisan public policy thinktank seeking a Senior Economic Policy Analyst to lead projects focused on U.S. economic policy issues, particularly related to technology, workforce development, trade, climate, health, regulatory and fiscal/tax policies. This role involves collaborating with research teams and external experts to produce high-quality analyses that inform business leaders and policymakers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a thought leader in economic policy analysis, identifying critical issues influenced by the evolving policy landscape.
- Build and maintain a network of external subject matter experts for collaboration.
- Design and manage projects, overseeing all phases from funding to execution and dissemination of findings.
- Secure grant support for research initiatives and outreach efforts.
- Present findings through various mediums, including digital media, to ensure accessibility for target audiences.
- Conduct comprehensive policy analyses, literature reviews, and data evaluations, proposing evidence-based recommendations.
- Create engaging online content that translates complex analyses into user-friendly formats.
- Collaborate with communications teams to produce timely and relevant policy briefs, op-eds, and other materials.
- Support the presentation of policy recommendations to stakeholders, leveraging social media and other platforms.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in U.S. economic policy analysis, preferably within a government agency.
- Graduate degree in applied economics, public policy, or a related field, with expertise in at least one key area of economic policy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences, including policy makers and business leaders.
- Proven experience in data analysis and the development of interactive online products.
- Demonstrated ability to create compelling content and foster strategic partnerships.
- Experience in grant writing and funding procurement.
