Role Overview:

Our client is a boutique country risk advisory firm seeking a highly experienced Business Development Director with a proven track record of selling geopolitical risk research, business intelligence, or related consulting services. This role requires an expert in navigating complex business environments, with a preference for experience selling into the energy or mining sectors across Europe and/or the Middle East. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of these industries, an established network of high-level contacts, and the ability to drive strategic growth through winning new logos and managing existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the identification, development, and execution of business development strategies for the company's suite of services, including country insights, security briefings and advisory services.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Europe and the Middle East, including multinational corporations, government bodies and industry leaders.
Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing client accounts, and positioning the firm as a leader in the field.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and challenges, and providing tailored solutions to help them mitigate risks and navigate geopolitical complexities.
Collaborate closely with internal teams across multiple geographies, to ensure that client needs are met with the highest standards of service and expertise.

Key Requirements:

A minimum of 10 years of business development experience, specifically within the fields of political risk, business intelligence, or consulting, ideally with exposure to the energy and/or extraction industries.
A deep understanding of political and economic dynamics globally, with a strong ability to translate this knowledge into actionable insights for clients.
Proven experience selling complex, high-value consulting solutions and services, with a track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence at senior levels.
Ability to travel frequently within Europe and the Middle East as needed.
